50th Anniversary Reunion
On Saturday, 11th November 2017 there was a reunion at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the school opening in September 1967. It was attended by over 160 former pupils and members of staff who had a very enjoyable afternoon renewing friendships and sharing memories.
There was an exhibition of important events in the history of the school; with school magazines, whole school and form photos to view and to try to recall names! The exhibition took place in the Sixth Form and Humanities Centre where school musicians entertained and refreshments were served.
Headteacher, David Anderson had to relocate his talk from the Resource Room in the Sixth Form Centre to the School Hall due to the large turnout and reflected on how successful the school is and the wide range of activities and trips that are on offer to current pupils.
There was then an opportunity for everyone to look around the school buildings and find their former classrooms and admire the newer buildings.
Comments included: 'a very successful and memorable event', 'really enjoyable and a wonderful opportunity for old friends to reconnect'.
