A message from the Sixth Form Staff;
Welcome to Queen Elizabeth’s Sixth Form. We do hope that you will consider the wide variety of opportunities that our co-educational sixth form has to offer - the academic elements of which can be seen in the Options Guide (2024 version available below).
In January 2019, Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School was rated as the highest performing Grammar School at A Level in the whole of Kent, the highest placed amongst 32 selective schools.
The value added score of 0.26 means that students, on average, achieved one quarter of a grade higher than their expected target grades.
2018 was a record breaking year for our A level students with the highest number of successful Oxbridge entries, the highest number of students progressing to Russell Group universities, the highest number of A* and A grades and the largest number of first generation students succeeding in university applications. We are delighted that our students reached such an excellent standard in their academic studies.
As well as their great academic success, we are very proud of the way in which our sixth form students regularly engage in the wide range of extra-curricular activities such as acting as school ambassadors, running charity events, creating the annual school pantomime or the work they do as Senior Students of the school.
We have over 200 students in our sixth form who are well-supported by a very well-qualified and hard-working teaching staff. The excellent pastoral system which exists in the main school continues into the sixth form. Every student is a member of a form group with a form tutor who ensures that each and every student is fully encouraged to achieve his or her full potential.
Our main aim at Queen Elizabeth’s is to produce confident and resilient students who are independent and reliable. We try to ensure that each student achieves their academic potential and has a positive plan for life beyond school.
We believe that Queen Elizabeth’s has a welcoming, tolerant and hard-working ethos and whether you want to further your academic career in order to progress to university level, or you want to find the best alternative route to your future, Queen Elizabeth’s is the place for you!
Philip Larter

A welcome message from the 2024/25 Head Student Team here at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School;
At Queen Elizabeth’s, students have the infrastructure in place to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The learning environment created by the Sixth Form Team is very efficient, ensuring all students are treated respectfully and maximise their time at our sixth form with our several study spaces leading to a conducive learning experience, especially for those that want silent study.
Although there is lots of importance placed on academia, our sixth form is not just about academic success. Wellbeing is really valued during these stressful two years, and so we have multiple support networks available to anyone at any time. The sixth form office door is always open! Additionally, we have a multitude of extra-curricular opportunities here at QE; from our QUEST (STEM) team, to our debating society, creative arts and sports, we are able to enrich the sixth form experience for all students, helping everyone with future journeys after school.
Queen Elizabeth’s ensures that all students make informed decisions about their aspirations and future decisions, with our designated career’s guidance and advice coordinator here for this very reason. No one is left behind in their decisions, whether that is to go on to university, an apprenticeship or go straight into work, everyone is supported. We make sure that everyone realises their capabilities and that they fulfil their entire potential throughout their whole time at our sixth form.
