Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Co-ordinator
Our Careers team has up to date knowledge and experience of the opportunities that are available to young people both in further and higher education as well as the world of work.
Staff work with students in all year groups to ensure that they have access to a programme of careers education and guidance, which will enable them to progress and maximise their opportunities for lifelong learning and career development.
Careers Information
Deciding on a career path is not an easy task. At Queen Elizabeth's we believe that access to information, advice and guidance is essential if a student is to make informed choices about their future and aspire to the career that is right for them. We work with students in a number of ways, from Year 7 right through to the time they leave school. By being consistent in offering advice and guidance the experience becomes a more effective process and helps to better prepare students to make decisions, understand and meet the various demands they will face in work - and in study - when they leave Queen Elizabeth's.
The Department is pleased to have been awarded the full Investor in Careers status for quality careers information, advice and guidance. The Careers Department have undergone a range of assessments and were commended for their work and provision. This achievement demonstrates the commitment the school has to ensuring high quality provision for its students by complying with the Guidance Council Codes of Principles: Information, Advice and Guidance that is impartial; confidential; owned by the young person; promoting equality of opportunity; transparent and accessible.
Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School is dedicated to providing high quality Careers education and Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to all its students. The Learner Entitlement Statement is what every individual pupil is entitled to throughout their time at Queen Elizabeth's. The Learner Entitlement is based on the National Framework for Careers Education and Guidance in England and has been designed by the IAG Co-ordinator.
